Super Saturday in Poole
Thank you for everyone who
helped out on Saturday!
Following the sad death of Cllr Dr Brian Leverett in September Poole CF have been helping Tony Reeves, the conservative candidate in the Old Town by-election with his campaign. On Saturday representatives from all over the South West came to help, we managed to deliver literature promoting the candidate and his views on the new waterfront developments through over a thousand doors, covering almost the whole ward in a day. Tony told us that “having young legs on a campaign is priceless, the Lib Dems had a coach load down on Friday from Plymouth, but CF have bested their efforts in only a few hours!”
At lunch time we explored the (somewhat early) Poole Christmas Market and were waylaid for some time with some Storm Troopers raising money for the Poppy Appeal, before heading back to the Old Town in the afternoon. This was spent discussing youth opinion on the new Waterside Developments at West Quay with local councillors; expressing our views on sustainable development, affordable housing and the importance of maintaining the traditions and character of areas under redeployment.
